CHICAGO — The 94th annual National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show (NRA Show) come to a close yesterday in Chicago where thousands of industry professionals gathered at the McCormick Place for the four-day event.

The upbeat show was highlighted by satisfied exhibitors, good industry visitor traffic (including buyers), and solid attendance at the various seminars and presentation offered throughout the event, which began Saturday, May 18.

There were more than 2,000 suppliers lining the show aisles, trumpeting food-and-beverage products, equipment, technology for every aspect of the restaurant business and services such as marketing and advertising, point-of-sale and payment processing.

This year there was a focus on healthy foods, particularly with the Healthier Kids Fare pavilion that featured some 400 supplier exhibitors. And, celebrating its sixth year, the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event ran concurrently with the NRA Show, featuring domestic and international brewers, distillers and vintners. Highlights included many chef- and sommelier-paired menu items from local Chicago restaurants and dynamic mixology competitions.

The NRA Show is the largest single North American gathering of restaurant, foodservice and lodging professionals. The NRA is on Twitter @NRAShow, Facebook, YouTube and there’s a NRA Show Blog.
