Chef Darren MacLean opened another restaurant in Calgary on January 15.
NUPO is a Japanese-style sushi restaurant focusing on vegan fare and sustainable practices, as well as world-class sushi.
Menu items can be ordered à la carte or at the omakase sushi counter, where guests can partake in a 12-course meal, featuring single-piece sushi made directly in front of the customer.
The drink menu features a number of handcrafted signature cocktails, as well as sake.
In addition to the main restaurant, a secret ultra-exclusive restaurant has been added. Hidden in the depths of NUPO lays EIGHT, an aptly named eight-seat room, where guests get a glimpse into the mind of MacLean as he prepares his vision of Canadian cuisine for the customers.
NUPO is open from Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to Midnight.
EIGHT is open for a one-time seating at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
