BURNABY, B.C. — OEB Breakfast Co. is opening its second B.C. location in Burnaby on April 5th.

With multiple locations across Western Canada, including in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Vancouver, the breakfast and brunch concept, created by chef Mauro Martina, focuses on offering a creative and upscale take on classic menu items.

“Breakfast means so much more to me than just the first meal of the day. It’s about elevating the whole breakfast experience. That’s what OEB is all about,” says Martina, owner and founder of OEB. “We care about where the food comes from and what happens to it before it hits the table.”

The size of the Burnaby location will be 2,200 sq. ft., accommodating 72 people inside, with 25 additional seats available on the patio. Designed by Janks Design Group, the restaurant features an open-concept kitchen, high windows to provide natural light and a mix of banquettes and communal tables, as well as bar-top options.

The menu at OEB features items such as the Hog and Scallops Breakfast Poutine with duck-fat-fried herb potatoes served with poached eggs, seared Digby scallops, slow-cooked bacon lardons, Saint Cyrille Curds and brown-butter hollandaise; and French Toast Trifle, featuring thick-cut brioche French toast, Meyer-lemon curd, market berries, pistachios and torched pavlovas.

OEB is committed to locally sourced ingredients and has partnered with B.C. producers, including Arctic Meats in Port Coquitlam for all-natural sausage and poultry; Cubic Farms in Langley for fresh microgreens. The beverage menu also offers a variety of local brews and wines.
