TORONTO — Yogurtworld Franchising Corp., the master franchisor of Menchie’s in Canada, has entered into an agreement with Brad Gushue, a Canadian Olympic gold medallist in Curling, to open three franchises in St John’s, Newfoundland.
“We are delighted we will soon have stores open in St John’s and have no doubt the St John’s market will be sensational. There is nothing in St John’s in any way similar to the Menchie’s experience,” said Michael Shneer, president of Yogurtworld Franchising Corp.
“We are equally proud of the fact that we are now a truly national chain in Canada and that no other self-serve frozen yogurt chain is even remotely close to that accomplishment.”
Brad Gushue added, “Having won an Olympic gold medal, it’s always been important for me to be associated with the best in whatever endeavour I’sm involved. I selected Menchie’s because it is the gold standard in the frozen yogurt industry. I know the community is going to love the family friendly environment, and we can’st wait to get the first store open.”
The first unit will be at 191 Kenmount Rd. in St John’s and is expected to open in April.
Menchie’s has stores in B.C, Alberta and Ontario.
