TORONTO — Drake recently hosted a pre-opening party at his new downtown Toronto restaurant, Pick 6ix. Buzz about the restaurant began last summer, when signage first appeared outside the former Houston’s Bar and Grill at 33 Yonge St.

Pick 6ix is the Toronto-based rapper’s second foray into the city’s dining scene, having opened Frings with chef Susur Lee in late 2015.

On Jan. 11, the restaurant officially announced Montreal-based chef Antonio Park as executive chef and partner in the restaurant on its Instagram account. Park owns several restaurants in Montreal and was recently named culinary leader of Chase Hospitality Group’s Kasa Moto restaurant in Toronto.

Very little is known about the concept and menu of the restaurant, though its name has led to speculation that it will be a sports bar, while chef Park’s reputation for sushi suggest that dish may feature prominently on the menu.

A press release from OpenAire states that the restaurant features a 2,100-sq.-ft. all-seasons patio featuring motorized drop-down windows that the company installed.

The restaurant is expected to open by the end of January.
