SAN FRANCISCO — The OpenTable team has announced the expansion of its mobile-payment program in select U.S cities in a Blog post.

“We are pleased to announce that the pay with OpenTable feature is expanding nationally. In addition to the New York City launch, mobile payments will be introduced in 20 additional cities before the year’s end. We also plan to further expand the presence of payments in San Francisco,” Caroline Potter, chief dining officer, OpenTable, wrote in the blog.

Patrons must download the latest version of the iPhone app to pay with OpenTable. A credit card can be added to the account, which enables users to view and pay their bill at participating restaurants.
