TORONTO — OpenTable, provider of online restaurant reservations and part of Booking Holdings Inc., has released its list of the 100 Most-Scenic Restaurants in Canada, according to OpenTable diner reviews.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate summer travel season than with this list of restaurants with some of the nation’s most stunning vistas,” says Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s Chief Dining Officer. “Whether you’re a local or a traveller, these winning spots are a terrific way to soak up a city’s charms while dining on delicious fare.”

Ontario led the way with 42 restaurants, followed by B.C. with 35, Alberta with 12, Quebec with six, Manitoba with five and Saskatchewan and Newfoundland with one each.

Vancouver was the city with the most winning restaurants (11), followed by Victoria and Toronto with nine restaurants each.

The list was generated solely from diner reviews collected between June1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. Qualifying restaurants were chosen based on their minimum “overall score” and number of qualifying reviews. The overall score is made up of unique data points such as overall diner rating, user clout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating.

The final 100 restaurants were chosen from the qualifiers based on the number of “scenic views” tags selected as a special feature.

Some notable winners are:

  • 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower — Toronto
  • Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort — Malahat, B.C.
  • Arôme – Casino du Lac Leamy — Gatineau, Que.
  • Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant — Calgary
