VANCOUVER — Italian restaurant Savio Volpe has named Andrea Alridge as its new head chef.
Alridge started her culinary career at Vancouver Community College and worked her way through some of Vancouver’s best restaurants. Most recently, she was chef de cuisine at Cin Cin Ristorante. Alridge is also a Top Chef Canada alum.
“Cooking Italian food with open fire is an absolute joy of mine,” says Alridge. “It requires much patience, love and respect for the ingredients. Working with fire truly brings people closer together, the way it bonds a team, the dishes that come from it and the presence that fills the room from the hearth of the fire.”
“[She’s] a natural choice as head chef,” says Phil Scarfone, Culinary director for Savio Volpe. “With her sterling reputation, strong work ethic and friendly demeanor, Andrea is the total package of a leader.”
