Ottawa Chef Admits to Sexual Harassment


OTTAWA — Ottawa-based chef and restaurateur Matthew Carmichael (Riviera, El Camino, Datsun) has admitting to sexually harassing women with inappropriate comments and handed over the operation of his business, reports CBC News.

This admission and announcement was made in a statement bearing Carmichael’s name, and was issued to multiple reporters from his personal email account yesterday. In the statement, Carmichael also admitted to struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, noting that he has recently completed a therapy program.
