OTTAWA — On the heels of Ottawa restaurant Atelier’s fifth anniversary, chef and owner Marc Lepine has announced he will be kicking off the new year with a second establishment, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
In a recent letter to the dining community, Lepine thanked the public for five great years supporting his restaurant and hinted at something new to come in early 2014. “I am often asked the question ‘what will you do next?’ To which I usually reply, ‘well, what’s wrong with what I’m doing now?’ But, I have a new answer to that question, starting today. I am in the process of developing a new, six-seat restaurant called Thru. Details on the concept will follow over the next few months as things begin to come together.”
Lepine is keeping mum on the details of the location and menu, but he revealed the new concept will push the envelope and promises to be “quite different to Canada.” [blogs.ottawacitizen.com]
