Ottawa to Create New Food Inspection Information System?

0

OTTAWA — Ottawa Public health is considering implementing a food inspection  information system that’s more accessible to the public, reports CTV News.

“We’re looking at different systems that could make the inspection results more visible on site,” Dr. Vera Etches, Ottawa’s deputy medical officer of Health is quoted as saying by CTV News. Currently, Ottawa Public Health has a website that shows a restaurant’s food inspection records. In Toronto, restaurants are given a green, yellow or red indication on storefront windows, and, in New York, restaurants are given a letter grade after inspections.

The issue will be discussed this fall in a Ottawa Public Health meeting that will be open to the public and business owners. [ctvnews.ca]
