Panera Opens New Toronto Location

TORONTO — Panera Bread Company opened a new site near Yonge and Dundas Square with a unique bread-cutting ceremony today, Jan. 24.

Coun. Kristyn Wong-Tam and Serina Manek, a partner at Make-A-Wish Canada, were on hand to kick off a year of expansion in the Greater Toronto Area that is expected to include five new Panera openings in 2012, in addition to its three units already open in Mississauga, Richmond Hill and Thornhill.

Panera Bread, which owns and franchises 1,467 bakery-cafés under Panera Bread, Saint Louis Bread Co., and Paradise Bakery & Café, offers antibiotic-free chicken with whole-grain bread and select organic and natural ingredients.
