CALGARY — After searching for expansion opportunities, the iconic Peters’ Drive-In will be opening a second location in Red Deer Alta., reports the Calgary Herald.

“It’s going to be a single-storey building that looks very similar to our Calgary location. It will also have some green space to accommodate outdoor tables. The only two differences will be that the Red Deer location will have only a single drive-thru, and it will have an indoor eating area, unlike the Calgary location, which has a double drive-thru and no indoor dining,” Joanne Rowe, president of the company, is quoted as saying by the Herald.

The new restaurant is expected to open in 2015. Rowe is also looking for land in Edmonton and has spoken to a real-estate agent in Saskatchewan.

Established in Calgary in 1962 by Gus Pieters, the quick-service restaurant was purchased in October 2005 by Rowe and her husband, Stephen Hayden. [calgaryherald.com]
