TORONTO — Pizza Pizza’s fifth bi-annual Slices for Smiles fundraiser was a success, raising $100,000 for children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
“This April, we set the bar higher than ever with a fundraising goal of $100,000, and we are proud to say the funds raised from our smiles will go straight to the well-deserving children’s hospitals,” said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza.
Consumers contributed to the cause by making point-of-sale, online and text donations or by purchasing half pizzas that featured a smile made up of of eight slices of pepperoni. All donations, including a portion of sales from the 120,000 special pies sold across the country, will fund research, care and equipment at Children’s Miracle Network partnered hospitals.The Slices for Smiles campaign has raised $695,000 for children’s charities since it was launched in 2007.
