WINDSOR, Ont. — The restaurant industry in Windsor, Ont. is reeling following the death of one of its most innovative entrepreneurs and business owners, Mark Boscariol, who died of a heart attack on July 26 at the age of 51.
Boscariol owned and operated three restaurants — Snackbar-B-Q, Walkerville’s Good Neighbour and Downtown Pizza Co. — which closed abruptly following his death. And, on Monday, the company operating them filed for bankruptcy, according to CBC News.
Boscariol was renowned for his entrepreneurial ability. He also had a hand in a number of local businesses, including Chanoso’s, Oishii, Buda, The Flying Monkey, Tecumseh Roadhouse, Bedroom Depot and Walkermole.
He also funded a program called The Little Things Matter that solicited donations from customers of his eateries to encourage residents to make improvements to their properties by providing matching grants of up to $1,000.
