TORONTO — Come Sept.1, the Toronto Eaton Centre, operated by Cadillac Fairview, will become home to the new 950-seat Urban Eatery food court, part of the mall’s $120-million revitalization project.
The Urban Eatery, located on the concourse level, will feature 24 self-service restaurants, ranging from Japanese, Thai and Indian to vegetarian, vegan and North American favourites.
Top Canadian designers created a contemporary alternative space, incorporating stainless steel, slate, marble and natural woods. One design feature includes a KFC unit that looks like a futuristic art installation, with the face of Colonel Sanders.
Other changes include greeters, plated dinners and real cutlery. “If you buy a submarine from Subway, you’ll get it on a plate if you want,” Brian O’Hoski, retail property manager for the Eaton Centre, is quoted as saying in the Star.
