MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Rational North America announced its full-year 2017 results following a year of record growth and product launches. The company continued its successful performance, generating a 26-per-cent increase in year-over-year growth and capturing 45 per cent market share within the combi-oven category. In addition, the Rational North America Distribution Center shipped a record-breaking 7,000 units, bringing the North American total install base to more than 50,000 active Rational combi-steamers.
“Year after year, Rational North America continues to flourish because we invest heavily in our organization and product innovation,” says Markus Glueck, executive vice-president of Rational North America. “In 2017, we hired 40 new employees and plan to add an additional 22 people to our team this year across all functional areas. The expansion of our team has allowed us to reach and educate more than 30,000 people about combi-technology in 2017 alone.”
Rational plans to continue its upward trajectory to secure its position as the market leader for the coming years. “We expect to ship more than 10,000 combi-steamers within North America in 2018. This organic growth can only be achieved through expansion and product innovations that provide maximum customer benefit for commercial kitchens,” adds Glueck.
