WINNIPEG — Winnipeg’s annual Raw:Almond pop-up has returned for its sixth year.
Led by the culinary festival’s co-creator, chef Mandel Hitzer of Winnipeg’s Deer + Almond, the 2018 instalment will run from Jan. 19 to Feb. 13. This year’s even features an even larger roster of participating guest chefs, including Joël Watanabe (Kissa Tanto), Andrea Carlson (Burdock and Co,), Christie Peters (The Hollows and Primal), Mitchell Bates (Grey Gardens), Christine Sandford (Biera), Nick Nutting (Wolf in the Fog) and Makoto and Amanda Ono (Mak N Ming).
The pop-up restaurant, which takes place in a temporary structure on the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, expanded to host events in multiple locations last year, including Raw:Tokyo — its first international pop-up — Raw:Churchill and Raw:Gimli.
