OAKVILLE, Ont. — Restaurant Brands International (RBI) CEO Daniel Schwartz has announced he is willing to directly discuss the concerns of disgruntled Tim Hortons franchisees.

Schwartz says he has been meeting with store owners, including members of the Great White North Franchisee Association (GWNFA), who have accused the company of mismanagement. These actions fly in the face of the CEO’s previous statements indicating that he would not communicate directly with the association.

Despite’s Schwartz’s statements, The Globe and Mail reports that the CEO didn’t allow franchisees to air their grievances at the company’s recent annual meeting, cutting off the meeting without allowing the usual question period.
