TORONTO — Air Canada’s EnRoute magazine editors are preparing to award the Best New Restaurants 2014 People’s Choice Award. Canadians can visit eatandvote.com to vote for their favourite restaurant.

The magazine seeks out new restaurants launched during the past year that advance the Canadian culinary identity. They are places where the overall dining experience will have a lasting and significant impact on restaurant culture. The 30 nominated restaurants, as chosen by a panel of Canada’s food and hospitality industry leaders, have been visited and judged by international food and wine writer, Andrew Braithwaite.

The nominees by city are:
Tofino, B.C.: Wolf in the Fog
Victoria: Little Jumbo
Vancouver: Ask for Luigi, The Blacktail Florist, Cinara, Farmer’s Apprentice
Surrey, B.C.: My Shanti
Calgary: Black Pig Bistro
Edmonton: North 53, RGE RD, Woodwork
Saskatoon: Ayden
Toronto: Agave y Aguacate, Bar Buca, Byblos, The Chase, Fat Pasha, Luckee, Rhum Corner
Ottawa: El Camino, MēNa
Montreal: H4C, Impasto, Mercuri, Patrice Pâtissier, Le Serpent, Vin Papillon
Quebec City: Légende
Halifax: Edna

“Last year proved Canadians want to have a say in Canada’s Best New Restaurants, and we are very excited to continue with the voting initiative this year,” said Ilana Weitzman, editor-in-chief at EnRoute magazine.

The Top 10 list of Canada’s Best New Restaurants will appear in the November issue of EnRoute and at enroute.aircanada.com.
