TORONTO — Canadian home cooks with a cherished family recipe will have another opportunity to impress the judges on a second season of Recipe to Riches.
“Recipe to Riches had a groundbreaking first season that encouraged viewer engagement like no series before, as recipes went from TV screen to store shelves just days after airing and offered Canadians the rare opportunity to vote online to determine the grand prize winner,” says Barb Williams, senior vice- president, Content, Shaw Media.
The program offers amateur chefs a shot at bringing their creation to the masses as a President’s Choice product while winning $250,000. In each episode, the cooks will compete in a specific food category, ranging from apps and snacks, to entrées and desserts. Several challenges during the series will help the judges determine if a recipe can be mass-produced.
Laura Calder of French Food at Home; Tony Chapman, founder, CEO of the advertising agency Capital C; and Dana McCauley of Janes Family Foods will evaluate the upcoming auditions.
