MONTREAL — Recipe Unlimited has brought the New York Fries brand back to Quebec with the grand opening of its inaugural location at CF Carrefour Laval food court in Laval, Que. Under the leadership of Recipe’s affiliate, the St-Hubert Group — which will leverage its deep roots in the Quebec market — the brand will offer artisanal fresh-cut fries, a variety of poutines and luxury hot dogs.

“We’re very excited to be bringing New York Fries back into Quebec under the wings of our St-Hubert team. It has been a fantastic collaboration of two beloved, operationally strong brands and we look forward to growing the New York Fries brand across the province,” says Frank Hennessey, CEO, Recipe Unlimited Corporation.

The St-Hubert Group will oversee the management and day-to-day operations of this 425-sq.-ft. New York Fries location, which features a new design concept blending modern and earthy. The brand also launched its first-ever video wall alongside its digital menu. New York Fries will use Carrefour reusable plate- and glassware for dine-in guests and provide compostable boxes made from 100-per-cent recyclable material for takeout.

“Over the past 68 years, St-Hubert has become one of the most trusted restaurant brands in Quebec,” says Richard Scofield, president, Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert. “We understand the Quebec culture and know what consumers want. We’re excited to use our expertise to reintroduce New York Fries to Quebecers and offer a new, premium fast food experience for guests.”

New York Fries has built a strong reputation as a leading shopping-centre eatery across Canada and in countries far and wide. The brand’s freshly cut fries are cooked in non-hydrogenated sunflower oil and, as potatoes are the only item that goes into the fryers, the fries appeal to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets. The brand also offers unique items to reflect the different tastes of Quebecers, including a toasted hot-dog bun in addition to the steamed version and a traditional poutine sauce for its classic poutine.
