TORONTO — Toronto’s Red Bistro and Wine Bar is being rechristened Reds Wine Tavern and re-imagined with Ryan Gallagher, the new chef and a former Top Chef Canada contestant, redesigning the menu, reports Toronto Life.
“With relentless pursuit, executive chef Ryan Gallagher redefines what a great food experience in Toronto should be,” reads a message on the restaurant’s website.
The restaurant is set to close for renovations Sept.1 and is scheduled to open three weeks later. Ayla Neilly, assistant GM, told Toronto Life the new resto will feature a “tavern-style” menu with cheaper prices; the decor will be revamped with new chairs, tables and a new set up that’s reportedly inspired by Mad Men.
Ryan Gallagher, who appeared on season two of Top Chef Canada, previously worked at Ruby Watchco.
