VANCOUVER — Members of the Vancouver restaurant industry have come together to launch the Vancouver Food & Beverage Community (VFBC) Relief Fund to help support hourly workers from the industry in need of short-term financial assistance.

The organization is led by Puneet Kochar and Taylor Chobotiuk of Tacofino, chef Abdallah El Chami of Superbaba and Sophia Cheng of PR firm SCPR.

All money raised will be distributed to food-and-beverage workers impacted by COVID-19 who require urgent financial relief.

Those applying for funds will receive access to relief funds of between $25 and $150 to use toward basic necessities such as groceries, bills, rent, prescriptions, et cetera.

The VFBC Relief Fund is currently calling for donations. Donations and applications can be made at vanfbc.com.
