Renegade Chicken Launches Ghost Kitchen

TORONTO — SIR Corp’s Renegade Chicken is embracing takeout and delivery services with a new ghost-kitchen concept. In addition to the brand’s pop-up location at Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market, customers can enjoy its signature chicken from 25 locations across Ontario, including downtown Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and London.

Since the onset of the pandemic, SIR Corp’s restaurants have been forced to adjust their business models to stay open and better serve their customers.

“With Service Inspired Restaurants (SIR Corp) experiencing major challenges due to lockdown restrictions, our company experienced significant declines in sales resulting in layoffs and the closure of a number of restaurants,” says Gordon Mackie, vice-president of Culinary Development. “It’s been incredibly difficult to say the least. Renegade Chicken was born as a reaction to these challenging times, taking advantage of the incredible talent we’ve been able to keep with us and our existing restaurant locations.”

Renegade Chicken runs as a scratch kitchen, producing a variety of fresh-tasting menu items and sides. Contrary to greasy fast-food options, Renegade Chicken takes pride in its locally sourced and antibiotic-free, sustainably farmed and never-frozen poultry.

Renegade Chicken can be delivered with Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes, DoorDash, as well as SIR Corp’s own Inspired Rewards app from all locations except the St. Lawrence Market pop-up that offers takeout only.
