Repelling for a Cause

TORONTO — In a bid to send more Easter Seal kids to camp, Kevin Collins, executive director of the Friends of We Care Foundation, is preparing to repel down the side of Toronto’s RioCan Yonge-Eglinton Centre.

“It costs approximately $200 a day to assist in sending an Easter Seal kid to summer camp,” Collins wrote in an email to potential supporters. “I would like to challenge you to help me generate enough funds to provide 50 days at camp for these special kids.”

The stunt, which is part of the 2011 Easter Seals Drop Zone event, will take place Oct. 6.
