HALIFAX — For those looking for charcoal rotisserie chicken, CHKN Chop has opened in Halifax.

Owners Jenna Mooers and Andrew Flood describe CHKN Chop is a fast-casual concept featuring a Portuguese-style rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, poutine and fries along with local craft beers and wines. Mooers also operates the Edna restaurant on Gottingen Street in Halifax. The CHKN Chop team also includes head chef Patrick Cleve and Patrick Harland.

In addition to rotisserie-chicken meals, chef Cleve’s menu includes grilled corn on the cob with lime aji mayo, cheese curds and cilantro ($3.75); a pulled-chicken sandwich with pickled onions, mild sauce, lime aji mayo, coleslaw and cilantro ($10); and a pulled-chicken poutine served with pickled onions ($16).
