TORONTO — Thousands of diners came together at 68 restaurants in 16 cities across the country for the third annual Restaurants for Change, raising more than $250,000 for local Community Food Centres and Community Food Centres Canada.

Funds raised through the event, which took place on Oct. 19, will support empowering programs that bring people in low-income communities together to grow, cook, share and advocate for healthy food for all.

“This year’s participating chefs and restaurants are part of an amazing community who care about where food comes from and also about who has access it,” says Nick Saul, president and CEO of Community Food Centres Canada. “We’re very thankful for their support, and excited to engage more Canadians from coast-to-coast in the movement towards a healthy and fair food system.”
