MONTREAL— RestoMontreal, the city’s online restaurant guide, is launching a free mobile app and is marking the occasion with La Fête des restos, an event focused on giving back to the community.
“La Fête des restos aims to give to people in need, as well as celebrate our city’s rich food culture,” says Anthony Mustillo, director and co-founder of RestoMontreal. “We hope Montrealers will discover great restaurants by using our app. We also invite them to a benefit evening where various establishments, including several members of our website, will be serving their specialties.”
The event takes place May 30 at Terrasses Bonsecours, in Montreal’s Old Port. Guests can sample fare from 11 participating restaurants including: Mercuri, Pintxo, Rib’ n Reef, Bitoque, Diablos BBQ Smokehouse and Ikanos. Profits will be donated to the Food Banks of Quebec.
Also, from May 20 to 27, $2 will be donated to the Food Banks of Quebec network for each app download.
