OTTAWA — The Canadian Public Health Association recently partnered with Maple Leaf Foods to launch the Eat Safe! website.

With an estimated 11 to 13 million Canadians contracting foodborne illnesses each year, the site is designed to encourage safer food handling, preparation and sanitization techniques. It outlines eating guidelines for high-risk consumers such as elderly diners, pregnant women and people who are HIV positive or undergoing cancer treatment.
