SAIT Opens Student-Run Market

CALGARY – On Tuesday, Oct. 22, students from the Baking and Pastry Arts, Professional Cooking and Meat Operations and Management programs at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary opened the school’s new retail market to the public. Freshly made specialty foods (including to-go entrées and sides), meats, cheeses and artisanal baked goods are now available for purchase at the Market Place at SAIT Polytechnic, which also doubles as a live classroom similar to SAIT’s student-run on-campus restaurant, The Highwood.

The Market Place is located on the main floor of the John Ware Building (enter through south doors) at SAIT Polytechnic’s main campus (1301 – 16 Avenue NW, Calgary).
