Saskatoon Restaurant to Close After 35 Years

SASKATOON — October will mark the end of more than 35 years of business for John’s Prime Rib and Steakhouse, located in downtown Saskatoon, according to The StarPhoenix.

Owner Jim Chrones runs the family business, which he took over when his father, John, retired.

“We’ve stood the test of time but … I want to do other things with my life,” Chrones, who plans to spend more time with his three-year-old daughter, was quoted as saying in The StarPhoenix.

Chrones sold the restaurant to an Edmonton-based company but kept the title to the land, located on prime real estate.

The restaurant will officially close Oct. 29.
