TORONTO  Some of Scotland’s best-known food products were spotlighted last week in an online demo session titled Scotland’s Coastal Kitchen. Renowned Toronto-based chef Mark McEwan taught viewers how to create horseradish-crusted Scottish Loch Etive Steelhead trout with kale, orange and toasted almonds and orange balsamic dressing; grilled Noland Seafood North Sea Haddock Sandwich with Baja-mayo and fried hen egg on a potato bun; and Macduff Shellfish Scottish brown crab claw with vermouth-butter dipping sauce and grilled baguette. Viewers were not only treated to watching celebrity chef McEwan in action, but they also got to try the products first-hand through special meal kits that were prepared by the team at Toronto’s McEwan.

With the Atlantic on its doorstep, Scotland’s seafood selection is renowned the world over. In addition to these menu items, Scotland also produces other seafood delicacies such as Skye scallops and langoustines from the Moray Firth to oysters and salmon.
