SUDBURY, Ont. — More than five years after some 200 people fell ill after consuming food at a North Bay, Ont., Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet restaurant, a settlement has been reached by an Ontario judge.
Members of the class-action lawsuit could receive between $1,000 and $7,250, depending on the duration of their symptoms. The outbreak was likely caused by contaminated onions, according to the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
No deaths resulted from the fall 2008 outbreak.
