Shamrock Burgers Hosts Eating Contest

BROOKLIN, Ont. — Ontario’s Shamrock Burgers customers tested their limits at the first World Monster Sham Eating Championship, where contestants competed to eat the most Monster Sham burgers — a 20-oz. burger duo, grilled over an open flame and topped with cheese — in 10 minutes.

Brian Li from Scarborough, Ont., the contest’s semi-final winner, emerged as the overall winner after devouring 60 oz. of beef in 10 minutes, beating his own record in the semi-finals, where he ate 50 oz. in 10 minutes. Julian Stormes from Brooklin, Ont., took second place.

Shamrock Burgers has two locations in Scarborough, Ont., and Brooklin, Ont., serving burgers, prime-rib steaks, chicken souvlaki, wraps and poutine.
