Shehata Named Chef At International Centre

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Renowned Canadian chef Tawfik Shehata is the new executive chef at the Mississauga, Ont.-based International Centre.

“Our mandate has always been to provide our clients with an exceptional experience, and we are confident chef Shehata will deliver on that promise,” said Trevor Lui, director of Operations and Sustainability.

Shehata has almost 20 years of professional culinary experience at such establishments as Winston’s, Scaramouche, Auberge du Pommier, Truffles at The Four Seasons and renowned resorts in Jamaica and Bermuda. Shehata has appeared on Food Network Canada, the CBC and SUN TV; he is a spokesperson for Foodland Ontario and has special interest in sustainable agriculture and supporting local producers.

I truly believe in the importance of sourcing local and that the best ingredients make the best food,” said
