TORONTO — The Direct Energy Centre in Toronto is set to become the stomping grounds for the annual edition of SIAL Canada and SET Canada, a combined international F&B and equipment and technology tradeshow that will run from April 30 to May 2.

This year 230,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space is expected to be filled with some 700 exhibitors and 14,000 professionals from 61 countries. And, Morocco will be the Country of Honour in the show’s 10th year.

“This significant representation appears in the continuity of discussions between Canada and Morocco to find a Free Trade Agreement. SIAL Canada will showcase their fantastic expertise in food and culinary cooking,” says Xavier Poncin, tradeshow director, SIAL Canada, SET Canada.

The show will also feature SIAL Innovation, a showcase of global food trends and innovations as well as three competitions. Speakers from companies such as market researcher Nielsen Canada, the Chicago-based research firm Technomic and the University of Quebec will also be on hand to complement nearly 20 other guests, referencing themes such as international and North American trends, food safety, sustainability and more.

This year will mark the second time the international show has been housed in Toronto. Last year, it was held in Montreal, where it will return next year. [sialcanada.com]
