VANCOUVER – The folks at Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House are preparing to party for a cause at the seventh annual Slurp & Swirl event scheduled at the Vancouver eatery on November 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The jam-packed night will feature a wine and oyster celebration, the Western Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship, a silent auction, music from a deejay and a live performance — all to benefit The British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.
“Slurp & Swirl is part of our identity at Joe Fortes and we take great pride in providing such a superb range of entertainment coupled with a delectable assortment of oysters and appetizers throughout this celebratory evening,” explains Bud Kanke, proprietor of Joe Fortes. “We feel especially honoured to be able to give back to the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund – an organization that makes a huge impact in the community.”
Tickets for the fundraiser are $150 per person and can be purchased on site at Joe Fortes located at 777 Thurlow Street.
