VANCOUVER, BC — On Sept. 14, 100 per cent of donations from purchasing any flavoured large Slurpee will go to Food Banks Canada to support local food banks. Feature flavours such as Crush Cactus Catapult, Fanta Dragon Fruit, Blueberry Yuzu Lemonade and Frog Water are available for a limited time.
Customers can pay any amount, including $2, $5, or $20, while earning 7Rewards points by scanning their 7-Eleven app at checkout. Every $1 donated to Food Banks Canada provides two meals to those in need. Since 2019, visits to food banks have increased by over 20 per cent, with Canadians making more than1.3 million visits in March 2021 alone.
“Being a good neighbour and supporting the communities we operate in is one of our core values, and it’s a sentiment shared by our customers, too,” says Marc Goodman, VP and GM of 7-Eleven Canada. “Our customers have been so supportive the past eight years of Slurpee Name Your Price Day, and this year, we hope they’ll join us again in the quest to make this our biggest donation event yet.”
