Franchising a tried-and-true Canadian brand overseas is a tenuous task, one from which many owners would shy away. So, when Warren Erhart, president and CEO of Triple-O’s parent company, White Spot Ltd., was approached by Cynthia Suen about franchising the former in Hong Kong, he didn’t jump at the opportunity.
“I spent a lot of time talking her out of it,” confesses Erhart, in a Vancouver Sun story. “It was a big risk. I didn’t know how strong the brand awareness would be in Hong Kong. She assured me she knew the market.”
