TORONTO — Recently, 30 seven-foot chickens flooded Toronto’s downtown core, marking the kickoff stunt for Wingsanity, the signature summer promotion from St. Louis Bar & Grill.
The idea behind the chicken takeover came from a desire to channel the chaos and energy of Wingsanity into something that would be unforgettable. The St. Louis flock made its way through subway platforms, patios and downtown streets, giving away St. Louis Bar & Grill gift cards, Hockey Hall of Fame passes, shirts and sunglasses.
“We know people lose their minds over Wingsanity. Last year, Canadians ate 2.9 million wings, so we wanted to go even bigger this year and launch with something totally unhinged — something that would make people stop in their tracks, pull out their phones and ask, ‘What the cluck is going on?’” says Royal Nasager, VP of Marketing. “Releasing a flock of giant chickens on the streets of Toronto felt like the perfect way to capture that energy and celebrate the most uncaged wing deal of the summer.”
