Starbucks Launches Honeycomb Lavender Latte in Canada

TORONTO — Starbucks is now offering a new Iced Honeycomb Lavender Latte beverage, exclusive to select stores in Canada, for a limited time while supplies last.

The drink was designed with Canadian tastes in mind and is inspired by the blooming gardens and honey bees that accompany Canadian summers.

“When we start the process of bringing a new beverage to life, we always think of who we’re developing the drink for,” says Kris Murray, a product specialist on the Beverage Research and Development team at Starbucks. “There’s no doubt that Canadians have diverse and adventurous taste preferences, so that’s a big consideration when we’re coming up with ideas.”

The new latte features Starbucks Blonde Espresso, milk and honeycomb lavender syrup and is topped with cold foam and real Canadian honey.

“Lavender has a unique flavour profile, adding dimension to the latte,” says Murray. “As a flower, it attracts bees and helps support the cultivation of honey. Canada is a huge honey producer and these two flavours are a natural fit that taste light and delicious when combined.”

Like other Starbucks beverages, the Iced Honeycomb Lavender Latte can be customized to suit customer tastes. Murray explained that the drink tastes just as good with dairy alternatives, such as soy or almond milk, and also works well as a Frappacino Blended Beverage.
