TORONTO — Starbucks Canada is on track to resume operations in 85 per cent of its locations by the end of May.
Amid COVID-19, the in-store ‘Starbucks Experience’ extended and evolved into an enhanced digital relationship with customers through the Starbucks App. The app has been providing a safe, easy and convenient way for customers to enjoy Starbucks, allowing them to order ahead and pay with the Starbucks App at participating stores while minimizing person-to-person contact.
To welcome customers back to stores, Starbucks is offering three new Starbucks-Rewards promotions:
- new members will be awarded with 150 Stars after they make their first purchase with the app between May 25 and June 30 (enough for one free drink)
- members will be rewarded with 25 Bonus Stars every time they place a mobile order using their registered Starbucks card in the app between May 25 and June 7
- existing Starbucks-Rewards members can enjoy four days of double rewards from May 19 to 22 at participating locations
These promotions coincide with Starbucks Canada moving to its summer menu, which includes three new Iced Coconut-Milk Drinks — the Iced Guava-Passionfruit Drink, Iced Pineapple-Matcha Drink and Iced Golden Ginger Drink — and returning seasonal favourite, the S’mores Frappuccino Blended Beverage.
In most cases, customers who use the app can pick up their order from a barista at the door (without entering the café) or at the drive-thru. Items can also be ordered through Starbucks Delivers.
