TORONTO — Starbucks Canada has launched its mobile payment iPhone app.

The app was created to provide faster and more convenient way to shop for coffee and allows customers to pay for coffee purchases from their iPhone, check their Starbucks card balance, reload their Starbucks Card account with any major credit card, find nearby Starbucks stores, access food and beverage nutrition information and search for a job at the company.

“Finding new ways to connect with our customers and elevate the experience in and out of our stores drives our continued growth in the mobile space. We’sre inspired by our customers and their feedback on MyStarbucksIdea.com and feel confident Canadian customers are ready to embrace mobile payment at Starbucks,” said Adam Brotman, senior vice-president, general manager, Digital Ventures at Starbucks Coffee Company.

Meanwhile, the coffee chain recently launched its customer rewards loyalty program in Canadian Starbucks stores. With the Starbucks Card Mobile App, customers can manage their My Starbucks Rewards status and choose between three levels of loyalty.

“We wanted to provide our customers with an easily accessible program that rewards them on the frequency of their visits,” said Matthew Guiste, director of Loyalty, Starbucks Coffee Company. “My Starbucks Rewards will deepen our relationship with our most loyal customers and also encourage more customers to participate.”
