SEATTLE — Starbucks is testing a Dark Barrel Latte at several locations in Ohio and Florida. The beer-inspired beverage has a roasted malt flavour.
“Starbucks regularly tests new beverages, and testing is an essential part of bringing the Starbucks experience to our customers,” said Lisa Passe, Starbucks spokesperson, in an email, as quoted by USA Today.
The new brew is made with espresso and topped with whipped cream and dark-caramel drizzle. It’s blended with a chocolaty stout-flavoured sauce and is served in a latte or blended Frappuccino.
According to several claims on Twitter, the drink, although containing no alcohol, tastes like a dark-brewed beer.
