Subway Canada Launches Never Miss Lunch Initiative

TORONTO — Starting November 3, Subway Canada will donate 15 cents from every purchase of a Kids Pak meal to Food Banks Canada’s After the Bell program.

The initiative is part of Subway Canada’s new Never Miss Lunch program — a permanent program aimed at addressing child hunger in Canada.

“Canadians make 1.1 million visits to food banks in a month and 35 per cent of those using food banks are children. With so many Canadian children struggling to get food each month, this can have long-term implications for their development, learning and growth,” says Chris Hatch, Chief Executive Officer for Food Banks Canada.

From November 3 to 10, customers can also round up their order to the nearest dollar, with all proceeds going directly to the Never Miss Lunch program.

“Never Miss Lunch is the evolution of our longstanding partnership with Food Banks Canada and aims to bring awareness to the important issue of child hunger in Canada,” says Subway Canada senior Marketing director, Cristina Wells.

Subway franchise owners and employees across the country will do their part to assist in supporting those in need within their community through volunteering at local Food Banks during the week of November 3 to 10.
