Summer Steps Up to the Plate at Naramata Inn

NARAMATA, B.C. — In preparation for the summer season, Naramata Inn is hosting several events for guests starting this month.

Featured in Canada’s 100 Best “unqualified celebration” of things to savour right now, chef Ned Bell and the kitchen team have launched all new seasonal menus for lunch and dinner using locally sourced ingredients to offer a true example of “Naramatian cuisine.”

Last week, Naramata Inn offered a special al fresco “Pecking Hour” tasting. Starring special guest Rajen Toor of Ursa Major Winery from Black Sage Bench in the Southern Okanagan, the event featured a few bottles of Rajen’s sold-out-in-seconds releases and a personal cheese-and-charcuterie board. Toor, and wine director Emily Walker, also poured a limited amount of Ursa Major’s sold-out wines for a-la-carte dinner guests of the Inn that same evening.

Throughout the month of June, guests can take part in the new All the Way with Chardonnay flight. The rotating tasting flight includes three wines from three very different growing regions: from the Okanagan Valley, the Lightning Rock ‘Canyonview’ chardonnay; from Australia’s Yarra Valley, the Mac Forbes chardonnay; and from France, the Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis Village. Walker will present them side-by-side to give guests the opportunity to contrast the wines and learn more about the influence that both the environment and the winemaking process can have on wines made from the same grape.

In celebration of Father’s Day, Chef Ned is serving up an indulgent take on comfort food —tenderloin and braised beef shortribs, with whisky jus and smashed potatoes. New dad and bar manager, Dave Levesque, has channeled his passion for local whisky into a new $20 tasting flight serving Vancouver Island’s 2019 Glen Saanich Single Malt from Divine Spirits, Naramata’s own Wyatt Whisky from Legend Distilling and Vancouver’s Commodore Single Malt from Odd Society.

For those who want to bring Naramata Inn to dad, on June 20, an exclusive Father’s Day Burger Box and Beer kit is available, offering all the fixings for a fun Father’s Day barbecue.
