Superfly

Named after the Curtis Mayfield album, Superfly is Parkdale’s newest snack bar, which has opened in the old location of popular barbecue joint, Electric Mud. Owners Alex Pearce and Zach Pettiford (Track & Field and Bangarang) wanted to open a bar reminiscent of New York during the 1970s.

The menu offers a variety of small sharing plates, meant for two people at most, featuring appetizer-sized samples of delicacies such as steak tartar, oysters and crispy Brussels sprouts served with olives, anchovies and capers.

Guests can observe the chefs in the open-concept kitchen or relax on the restaurant’s year-round patio. The hip decor, including a fish-scale bar and dance-floor-patterned ceiling, adds to the snack bar’s disco vibe along with the constant rotation of choice soul and funk music.

Superfly specializes in spritz cocktails, but guests can also find a selection of local craft beers and wine, all of which can be ordered by the glass.
