TORONTO — A suspicious fire tore through Myth Restaurant, as well as several floors of office space above it, located on Brant Street in Toronto at 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Investigators believe the blaze began on the patio and spread inside to the first and second floors of the building. No injuries have been reported and there was no damage to neighbouring buildings. Police have said they suspect arson after locating a gas can at the scene.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of a devastating fire at Myth,” reads a statement on Instagram. “There are no words to describe the shock and disbelief we all feel in this moment, but we’re grateful that no one was injured. We are also reminded of the tremendous work of our local fire and police department, who battled the fire at Myth in the early hours of Tuesday, February 28th. Now, more than ever, we ask for the support of our community as we navigate the days and weeks ahead.”

Adelaide Street remains closed from Brant Street to Spadina Avenue, while Brant is closed from Adelaide to King Street for the investigation.
