Taco Bell Launches Quesalupa in Canada

VAUGHAN, Ont. — Taco Bell has brought its latest menu innovation to Canada.

The Quesalupa — part chalupa, part quesadilla — combines two fan favourites into one item with a new, cheesy interior.

Canadians have been anticipating the arrival of the Quesalupa since its launch in the U.S. earlier this year. When Canadians were polled in a national survey on what they would do to get their hands on it first, almost half of those asked said they’d be willing to trade something they own for the privilege.

“We know Canadians love Taco Bell but wow, it was amazing to see just how far they’d go to get a bite of the Quesalupa before the rest of the country,” says Veronica Castillo, head of Marketing and R&D for Taco Bell Canada. “Some of the offers were quite unexpected – like family members and prized possessions.”

The Quesalupa is Taco Bell’s first product to feature a cheese-stuffed shell. The new offering features a crispy fried shell filled with melted pepper jack cheese, topped with seasoned beef, cool reduced-fat sour cream, shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese and diced tomatoes.
